THE DEATH GRANT THAT MAY BE PAYABLE FOLLOWING THE DEATH OF A PENSIONER

If your late spouse, registered civil partner or nominated cohabiting partner died as a pensioner, a lump sum death grant MAY be payable. The Death Grant is only payable if the deceased was under age 75 at their date of death. The amount payable will be:

 
 
 
Deceased's Annual Pension x 10* - Total Annual Pension Paid = Total Death Grant
 *Is DECEASED'S ANNUAL PENSION x 5 if deceased retired BEFORE 1 APRIL 2008.
