Annual Benefit Statements were posted in the week commencing
22 November 2010 to those Scheme members with a deferred membership of the LGPS as at 1 April 2010. Those employees who left the Scheme after 1 April 2010 should receive their first annual statement as part of the 2011 production.

Applications for the early release of Deferred Benefits must be made directly to former employers who can consider applications for early payment on medical grounds from any age.

However, applications to former employers, for reasons other than medical grounds, can only be considered from age 55, unless membership of the Scheme commenced before 6 April 2006 and ceased before 1 April 2008, in which case applications may be considered from age 50 but would be subject to substantial tax penalties.
